West Country Quilt & Textile Show
What do art quilt makers do all day? Visit stand G22 at the 2019 West Country Quilt Show and find out. The art quilt group, CQ West, will once again be giving quilt show visitors a glimpse into their working studios, with an opportunity to talk to the makers about how they produce their work. This year some of the demonstrators will be exploring various methods of incorporating text into their quilts such as Gelli plates; collagraph; transfer print; monoprinting; writing directly onto fabric; lino printing; stencilling; collage techniques and both hand and machine stitching.
During the four daily demonstration times, there will be at least two members of the group working and they will welcome questions and discussion with visitors.
An exhibition area will include quilts made by the demonstrators to illustrate text in textiles, and there will be a brand new exhibition of 16” square quilts by all members of CQ West.
